Key requirements
What CSSF inspectors actually found wrong in 2024. Based on 32 on-site inspections of higher-risk activities: private banking, trade finance, fund services, payment institutions, VASPs. Recurring problems: ineffective sanctions screening (poor fuzzy matching, slow updates), weak handling of generated alerts, incomplete ongoing CDD, insufficient documentation of source of funds and wealth, weak BO identification in complex structures. Essential reading for self-assessment.
