Key requirements
Nigeria's main counter-terrorism financing law. It works alongside the Money Laundering Act. Makes it a crime to provide, collect or use funds for terrorism, even if no attack actually happens. Banks and other financial institutions must screen against the Nigeria Sanctions List, report suspicions to NFIU and freeze assets of designated persons. Brings Nigeria closer to FATF standards on CFT (Counter-Terrorism Financing). Penalties are severe. Life imprisonment is possible for the worst offences.
