Major change in 2026. Originally required millions of US companies to report their beneficial owners to FinCEN. FinCEN's Interim Final Rule of 26 March 2026 removed reporting requirements for all US-formed entities (domestic reporting companies) and US persons. Only foreign reporting companies (entities formed under foreign law that registered to do business in the US) must now file Beneficial Ownership Information reports.
